#in that second one Artemis looks like she’s considering Wally #like, they came this far and she’s fine with holding his hand now #she KNOWS he wants her #but Wally is like nope, I need to preserve my reputation #or whatever #and then in the third one Artemis looks more pissed that he let her hand go than embarrassed he was holding it in the first place #and Wally’s face looks like he know he just made a huge mistake

They both kind of pulled their hands away at the same time, but what I love is how Artemis jerks hers away with this huff and just looks away like she’s trying to convince herself she didn’t actually mind holding hands with Wally West, but she honestly did but they’ve both been so annoying with each other that it’s just way too easy to regress back into those ways despite the genuinely nice time they spent together. Like, they were so attracted to each other and it was so obvious, and they both remember EVERYTHING together so they know they like each other like the tagger pointed out, BUT THEY WON’T OWN UP TO BECAUSE OF LINGERING INSECURITIES AND BEING AFRAID TO OWN UP TO IT. AND MY OTP IS PRECIOUS AND IN DENIAL.

Because Greg put it best: "When their memories return, so do their insecurities— neither will be the first to admit they like the other."

Can I also just say how much I love that they grabbed hands in the physical world too and not just the subconscious plain that M’gann transported them all to? UUUUUUGH.

*cries happily over otp*

"In fairy tales, monsters exist to be a manifestation of something that we need to understand, not only a problem we need to overcome, but also they need to represent, much like angels represent the beautiful, pure, eternal side of the human spirit, monsters need to represent a more tangible, more mortal side of being human: aging, decay, darkness and so forth. And I believe that monsters originally, when we were cavemen and you know, sitting around a fire, we needed to explain the birth of the sun and the death of the moon and the phases of the moon and rain and thunder. And we invented creatures that made sense of the world: a serpent that ate the sun, a creature that ate the moon, a man in the moon living there, things like that. And as we became more and more sophisticated and created sort of a social structure, the real enigmas started not to be outside. The rain and the thunder were logical now. But the real enigmas became social. All those impulses that we were repressing: cannibalism, murder, these things needed an explanation. The sex drive, the need to hunt, the need to kill, these things then became personified in monsters. Werewolves, vampires, ogres, this and that. I feel that monsters are here in our world to help us understand it. They are an essential part of a fable."
